Symposium 6-7 February
Translation in the Air: Translating for the Stage

Out of the Wings, the AHRC-funded project focusing on Spanish and Spanish American Theatres in translation, will be holding a symposium on 6-7 February. The symposium is aimed at theatre practitioners and researchers with an interest in the performance of translated plays.  We will be approaching translation as part of the collaborative process of stagecraft, focusing on practical solutions to practical problems.

Full details of the programme can be found on the project website http://www.outofthewings.org (in the Blog section).  The symposium begins at 14.30 on Friday 6 February at King’s College London on The Strand, with (optional) dinner at Sapori, Covent Garden.  The events on Saturday, which run from 10.00 to 17.00, will take place in the Tristan Bates Theatre at The Actors Centre in Covent Garden. 

The cost of the symposium is £25 (£15 concessions), payable at the Tristan Bates Theatre on Saturday morning, or by pre-registering with a cheque in advance.  The cost of the (optional) dinner on Friday 6 February is £30 per head including wine, payable by cheque in advance.

Cheques for the symposium registration fee and the dinner should be made payable to King’s College London and addressed to Dr Gwen MacKeith, Out of the Wings, Department of Spanish and Spanish American Studies, King’s College London, Strand, WC2R 2LS .
