Comments:

The University of Leeds BA Theatre (Dramaturgy) course is coming to an end next year (2007). The course is being removed due to the closure of Bretton Hall college in the same year.

The dramaturgy course is being replaced, with other art courses, by a new performance based degree.

I am assured, as a current student studying the BA Theatre Dramaturgy course that there will be dramaturgical teaching within the new course, but further investigation is recommended.

I am interested in a couple of programs in the UK including the RADA/King’s college MA in Text and Performance study and the University of Glasgow’s programs in Dramaturgy and one they call “Contemporary Performance Practice.“ If anyone knows anything about these programs I have loads of questions about them- specifically what is the ratio of theoretical study to practical study. How much time is spent in the rehearsal room, how much is spent scratching heads in classrooms, etc. If you know a student at one of these programs I’d love to launch a couple of questions at them about their work in these programs.
